This talk draws on a polyphonic tapestry of texts (Serbian, English, French, German, Italian) to examine two symbolic figures: the Masobaby—an endlessly self-devouring cherub—and the Unborn Monument—a reflective form locked in stasis. Each represents an identity in crisis, with the Masobaby perpetually biting its flesh in an unfulfilled search for external connection, and the Monument lingering as silent potential awaiting activation. Their interplay, framed as “abject fetalmania,” exposes the fragile borders of subjectivity when identity categories fracture. Rooted in post-structural and queer theory, the presentation positions the Masobaby–Monument dyad as a lens through which to envision “post-identity” possibilities in art and culture. By revealing an “exoskeletal” discourse—where structural seams (language, genre, theory) remain visible—the talk parallels emergent digital and performative practices that highlight their creative processes. Rather than relying on fixed labels, these precarious in-between figures offer new ways of thinking about power, desire, and visibility in the art field, particularly once identity is understood as fluid and fragmentary.
Ultimately, the Masobaby–Monument assemblage invites us to reframe identity politics. It foregrounds paradox as a generative force, where perpetual hunger meets suspended potential and where dismantling normative boundaries fosters radically open, future-oriented art practices.

Enrolled MA programme Postdigital Lutherie, Tangible Music Lab at the University of Art and Design and the Anton Bruckner University Linz (2022). MFA – Transmedia Research (2016) at the FFA - Art University, Belgrade.
